In 2005, Myles and Madeleine's paths crossed in the wood-workshop at Brunel University where they were both studying Product Design. It would be poetic to say it was love at first sight but in reality they made each other laugh and seemed to make a good team. Something they didn’t realise would become so crucial in our future together. A random discovery of the process of steam bending intrigued Myles and a few weeks followed of experimenting in the kitchen with various bubbling saucepans and wooden boxes filled with steam. After a good deal of experimenting with this sensitive process they began sharing their creations with the world and LayerTree started to evolve.
