Rebecca graduated from UCA Farnham in Surrey with a First Class Honours degree in Woven Textiles – the beginning of her journey which led her to pursue a career in weaving. Rebecca was selected as 1 of 24 graduates across the U.K. for Texprint, allowing her to promote her work in Paris. After selling designs to Italian Fashion House ‘Etro’, she was inspired to pursue a career in Textiles.
She has since worked in the Textile Design industry working at the prestigious Colefax & Fowler (with whom I am VERY well acquainted through my design work!), starting in Quality Control and progressing to Samples Manager and Operations Manager.
Rebecca makes the most gorgeous lampshades, throws and cushions. Personally I am always on the lookout for handmade accent pieces – they give personality to a high street furniture piece, and act as a talking point in a room.
Rebecca’s Ethos
Throughout her time spent in the commercial industry, Rebecca continued to create her own designs and products. Her style is unique and combines the traditional craft with a modern twist, perfectly suited to a range of interior designs. But, creating homewares and running a family wasn’t enough! She quickly realised that her customers didn’t only want to purchase products, they wanted to be more involved. Rebecca has also opened up her home studio to allow others to experience this craft first-hand and to make their very own piece of fabric through workshops and experience days. FEATURED PRODUCT – Bentley Lampshade
Ever stayed in a quaint cottage style boutique hotel or Air BnB? This lamp shade reminds me of luxe textured carpets and four poster beds. The blocky design is handwoven and created to add something a bit different to Rebecca’s collection.
The Bentley is influenced by bold colour blocks and irregular patterns. Handwoven using 100% wool, the chunky fabric adds a lot of texture and can even be compared to an animal print effect. A warm gold inner panel has been used to compliment the pink and grey, and to add a lovely warm tone when it is lit.
